I had the privilege to watch Wildwood last night as part of their Fan Screening event and I am so glad that I drove the 1.5hours to the theater to watch it.
I loved the film. What can I say, first impressions is that it's one of Laika's best films. It's probably my second favorite film of theirs besides Coraline.
I honestly think that the trailers do not do this movie justice. they really didn't capture the story or how epic the film is.
I was pleasantly surprised they didn't shy away from the adult themes and visuals that one may assume in a "kids" movie. I would say its not a kids movie, but more young adult and older. The missing Link I would consider more of a kids movie that really insulted the intelligence of adults that watched it, Wildwood is certainly not that.
I hope this movie preforms well in theaters, it definitely deserves it. With all the other bad films that have been released over the years, Wildwood is finally a film worth watching.
